Iran 2013
Recently Ostra International signed a contract for the construction supervision of a potato store house.
It involves the construction of modern storage facilities for 15,000 tons of chips potatoes.
The project also includes the potato reception, handling and sorting line as well computerized climate control in the cold stores.

Mexico 2012
Meanwhile, Ostra International Projects BV has executed the Mexican turnkey storage projects successfully.
It concerns the recent realization of modern potato cold stores in northern Mexico. This year there are a total of six cold stores renovated and refurbished.
It is a turnkey contract whereby Ostra works with both Dutch and Mexican suppliers.
This contract includes storage for total 8,000 tons potatoes in boxes.
The existing buildings have been partly demolished and then rebuilt as a modern potato store house. The cold stores are equipped with all modern gadgets to store potatoes to 9 months. The cold rooms are equipped with modern box suction system in which temperature, humidity, CO2, ozone and sprout inhibitor are regulated entirely by the computer.
Since 2009, Ostra International realized in Mexico about 22,000 tons of modern potato cold stores along with many suppliers.

Pakistan 2011
Recently Ostra International concluded a large feasibility study in Pakistan.
This assignment has been executed for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and resulted at the final phase in the design of a large fruit & vegetable auction facility.
Ostra International has developed and designed the following:
The goal is to realize a transparent and efficient auction for fruit & vegetables. The new design should give a win-win situation for consumers and producers, whereby producers will receive a realistic price for the quality they deliver, and whereby the consumer will receive quality produce for a fair price.
The first modern auction facility will be realized in Rawalpindi. The next facility will be possibly in Lahore.

Venezuela 2011
Ostra International’s CEO Doeke Oosterbaan had an interview with Venezuelan press, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the state of Portuguesa, showing also the intention improve the Venezuelan farms with state of the art technology from Ottevanger, a Dutch company he represents in Latin America specialized in feedmilling technology.

Recently Ostra International started a large feasibility study in Pakistan. This assignment will be executed for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and will assess the existing situation in the agriculture in the province of Punjab.
Later various projects will be defined in order to improve the situation. Also all necessary documents will be provided to the ADB.
These projects will be financed by the ADB under the PPP and BOT structure.
It covers the following sectors:
Transfer of knowhow will be a major part of the projects.
Furthermore possible projects will be found which can support the rehabilitation of the flood affected areas.

Feasibility production of French fries Venezuela July 2009
In cooperation with Kiremko and TCA in Caracas, Ostra International has recently finished the feasibility study for a customer in Venezuela for a French fries factory.
The import procedure with CADIVI has been started for a part of the investment, namely a modern potato storage.

Ostra International executed a technical feasibility study in order to optimize the post harvest potato technology. This resulted in a long term cooperation with a major integrated potato production company.
Argentina
2008
Together with Ottevanger milling engineers, Agrix, vd Zanden,
en Agrivalue, Doeke Oosterbaan has executed a technical feasibility study in
Argentina. The beef cattle sector has been evaluated and the possibilities for
small scale feedmills has been studied.
Due to the very flexible possibilities
of the Ottevanger modular feedmills, a profitable production of compound
concentrate feed is possible in Argentina.

Ostra
International is very active in the agricultural and horticultural sector in
Venezuela. For
various Dutch suppliers, the local market has been developed in the private and
government sector.

Technical assistance in Sudan June 2007
As a follow-up of the March visit, recently technical
assistants and a training course have been given to specialists of a fruit and
vegetable export centre. It was about an onion packing line.
Feasibility production of French fries Venezuela May 2007
Recently, Ostra International found a customer in Venezuela for a French fries factory. In the mean time, in cooperation with Kiremko, an application for a subsidized PESP study project has been sent to EVD. Recently an approval has been received to execute this feasibility study in Venezuela.
The study is called: “ state-off-the-art French fries production plant in Venezuela ”
Ostra International is the initiator of this project which will be executed in cooperation with Kiremko; Montfoort and TCA; Caracas.
Importer Ostra International in Cuba March 2007
Ostra International started a professional cooperation with
the company Garva s.a. in Havana. Together with Garva, agricultural machines,
implements and spare parts will be sold to existing and new clients in Cuba. Garva is a Mexican-Cuban company and is active in the supply of parts and
materials to industrial and agri mechanisation distributors.
Recently, Ostra International executed technical assistance,
training and a potato field demonstration on a APH project in Sudan.
Along the
Nile river, potatoes are being cultivated in the dessert on a modern way.
Ostra International will execute
commercial activities in Latin America for Ottevanger Milling Engineers.
This cooperation will start at the International Poultry and feed expo in Atlanta USA.

After a successful visit to Venezuela,
Ostra international together with Dalsem and TCA, will execute a market research
for greenhouses.
Recently a request for subsidy has been submitted to the EVD.

In September, Ostra International
visited Colombia together with Nivoba and Agriterra. During various meetings
with the client, the Ministry of agriculture and a bank, big interest was shown
in the production of cassava starch. Furthermore the production of bio-ethanol
from cassava starch seems to be a hot item.
Both options will be included in the PESP study.

During a study trip of Ostra
International to Colombia a potential customer for a yucca (cassava) project has
been approached. In the mean time in cooperation with Nivoba Veendam, an
application for a subsidized PESP study project has been sent to EVD.
Recently
an approval has been received to execute this feasibility study in Monteria; in
the north of Colombia.
The study is called: “Integral Project Cassava and Starch production in Colombia”
Ostra International is the initiator of this project which will be executed in cooperation with Nivoba bv; Veendam and Agriterra; Arnhem.

Recently
a proposal for a potato project has been presented to the Ministry of
Agriculture of Venezuela.
Ostra International is initiator of a new formed company to run this project.
The study is named “Feasibility study of the production, storage and commercialisation of high quality (sweet) potatoes” 2004-2005.
Above study has been finalized with an enormous potential to realize a project.
Negotiation are on hand at the moment between Ostra International and Gema, part of the Ministry of sugar in Cuba in order to realise a project.
These two market studies for Eurobagging have been finished with a very positive result. In France as well as in Sweden contracts have been signed with importers for the marketing of Eurobagging machines. Also a considerable amount of machines and silage bags have been sold.
Above market study has been subsidised by NIOF, cooperation north Netherlands.
Recently
Ostra International executed a small market study in Iran. Some areas in the
north west and north east of Iran have been visited in order to investigate the
possibilities to develop de potato cultivation, handling and storage sector.
Result: Enormous possibilities in this rapid developing market.
Recently
Ostra International delivered and installed the first Reldair humidification
system in Cuba.
This
installation works in a modern cool storage for potatoes and vegetables.
De
Cubans showed also their interest to use the system in the tobacco handling.
For
the company Bromach, Ostra International is finishing a market research in
France.
Recently
we participated successfully on the agricultural exhibition Space in Rennes (Brittany)

Recently
Ostra International executed an assignment in Iran. For a Dutch manufacturer a
large potato handling and grading line has been completed, tested and finally a
successful start-up has been made. Furthermore a technical training has been
made to the operators of the line.
Recently Ostra International visited the
province of Sucre in the north of Colombia. Besides the visit to approx. 15
dairy farms, also some locations for a practical training centre have been seen.
Furthermore a first pilot mechanisation proposal has been presented to the
governor of Sucre.
During our official government meetings,
the governor, various mayors and farmers of the area have been very interested
in the development of the agricultural sector as well as the introduction of new
mechanisation. Existing funds will now be activated.
Recently Ostra International became the
agent of Reldair products for countries in Latin America. At first the marketing
activities will be developed in the countries Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba.
Reldair is the manufacturer of high pressure fog-systems (1000 – 1800
PSI) and humidity
control installations for use in e.g. greenhouses, warehouses, flower bulb
moistening, mushroom cultivation, tree cultivation, horticulture, poultry
farming, smell control etc. This can be achieved with the fixed nozzle system as
well as with the FANFOG system.
Besides humidity control, the moistening
also creates a strong cooling effect through the evaporation of the fog.
Reldair installations can work with
extreme small water drip size of 10 micron. This fog does not settle on the
plants or products but stays in the air and increase the relative humidity.

Recently Venezuela has been visited to
develop new activities for Ostra International. Together with the Governor of
Carabobo, new projects will be developed.
Furthermore the company ININTACA will
be the partner and importer for Ostra International in Venezuela.

Ostra
International supported Redrock - Bromach and Euro bagging on the SIMA
agricultural exhibition in Paris (France). This was part of the market
introduction of the 2 brands in France, executed by Ostra International.

For the company Bromach, Ostra International is executing a market
research in France.
Bromach is an import - export company for farm
implements, and is part of the Broekens group in the Netherlands.
Ostra
International will investigate the situation for the product group Redrock
roughage feeding systems.
In September 2004 a study tour to Colombia has been carried out on invitation of the provincial government of Sucre.
The west of the country, the Cauca valley in-between Cali and Peirera has been visited. An investment plan for Landleveling and drainage will be prepared and offered to the irrigation & drainage district in La Union.
Furthermore a visit has been made to Sincelejo in the northern province of Sucre. Together with Smart Alliances a plan will be developed for the modernisation of small cattle farmers in this Caribbean region.

Ostra International is intensively involved in this PESP study which is executed in Hershey; Camilo Cienfuego-Cuba. The feasibility study is carried out together with the Dutch companies Miedema, Nora bouw and Smart Alliances.
Recently the sugarcane factory in Hershey has been closed down, resulting in high unemployment rate and a large amount of unused land. During the PESP feasibility study, alternative crops will be investigated in order to develop a profitable farm system.
In July 2004 a start has been made to this study.

Ostra International is executing a market research study for Eurobagging in the countries France and Sweden.
Eurobagging produces silage bagging systems that offer the most efficient storage method when it comes to preserving the nutritive quality of forage crops at cattle farms.
The following subjects will be investigated:

* Evaluate the actual market situation
* Search for existing sales and distribution channels
* Make an overview of the existing competition.
