Ostra International has its base in the Netherlands (Holland) a country with an excellent reputation in agro and horticulture technology. The company’s owner, Mr. Doeke Oosterbaan, is a born farmer’s son from Fryslân (Friesland; the Netherlands). He is proud to share his and his teams’ practical knowledge and international experience in order to improve sustainable agriculture, traceable and transparent food and feed production, handling, storage, and processing worldwide.

The main activities of Ostra International are related to agriculture and food processing, handling, storage, and distribution. Our specialty is agricultural projects — from Farm to Fork or from Concept to Completion. We develop no nonsense sustainable agro-horti-food project solutions.

In the coming years reliable food production will be a big challenge to feed the world. Therefore Ostra International is aware of the importants of sustainability in food production, handling and processing.

The challenge throughout the agro sector is to continue to achieve economic success while reducing carbon emissions, reduce waste, water and energy consumption. Important in this aspect is sustainable production practices keeping the 3 P’s in mind, signifying Profit, Planet and People.

In order to ensure enough food for the coming generations and increasing world population we have to increase the world food production and in the meantime reduce our ecological footprint.

It is expected that in the yr 2030 the world food needs will be increased with 30% !!

This means we need more production on less agricultural land.
